SLAM magazine is tailor made for Blake Griffin. Slam and Blake go hand in hand together, Blake should be featured every month in the magazine as he graces us basketball fans with spectacular dunk in every Clippers game.
Blake quoted: “[It’s] not just about dunks,” said Griffin moments after the shoot wrapped. “I take pride in being an overall player and not just being one-dimensional. That’s something I would like to be recognized for. But that’s gotta come.”
I agree. He is not one-dimensional, he averages 22 points per game and 12 rebounds per game. Those 22 points are not all coming from dunks as Blake got plenty of moves in the low post. He has many skills inside not just dunking, now if he can shoot like Dirk Nowitzki in the three point line then he is already close to perfect. He also takes a lot of shot from the free throw line which is good.
“I’m laid back,” Griffin assured me during our time together. “People see me on the court and think I’m real intense. But off the court, when I’m around my friends and people that I’m close with, it’s nothing like that.”
Perfect. Humble kid off the court and very intense inside the court. Kinda like fellow young superstars Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant and perhaps even like the legendary MJ himself, minus the intimidation factor, they do their talking inside the game.
